Overnight oats are a simple, healthy and delicious breakfast! These Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats are also perfect for those time crunched mornings.

For breakfast I like my meal to be packed with a nice balance of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. Whole grains are typically my carbohydrate of choice to start the day. I choose whole grains for a few key reasons:

  1. Great source of energy
  2. Helps feel fuller longer
  3. Better digestion
  4. Provides fibre, vitamins and essential minerals

Overnight oats tend to be my breakfast of choice because they are quick and easy. Not to mention that I love to start my day with something sweet! However, if I’m in the mood for something savory then whole grain toast with eggs or a breakfast burrito on a whole wheat tortilla are also great options.

The required ingredients for the delicious Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats are listed below. Feel free to swap out various types of fruit or nuts to suit your palette.

  • ¾ cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Whole Grain Rolled Oats
  • ¼ cup Chopped Apple
  • 1-2 tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp Almond Milk
  • 1 tsp Chopped Nuts
  • Dash of Cinnamon

Yields 1 Serving Or Mason Jar

Layer the ingredients into a mason jar in the order listed above. I use 500 mL wide-mouth mason jars and they fit all of the ingredients perfectly. You can purchase them here ⇒ Amazon

Seal each jar and store in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, stir the ingredients with a spoon to combine.

TIP: I prepare 5 of these jars every Sunday evening so that my breakfast is made for the work week. They keep very well and are the perfect healthy breakfast for busy mornings!
