3 Ways to Put Your Goals into Action

Successful goal achievement, health and fitness related or otherwise, is typically a result of mindset.

If you’re serious about reaching your goals, the trick is to break through the mental barriers.

The only person who can really stand in your way is you. So if you want it, go get it!

Here’s how:

1. Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable

The desire to remain in your comfort zone is natural. As a result, we often push our goals and dreams to the side until another day.

Unfortunately nothing ever happens. Tomorrow becomes next week. Next week turns into next month. Next month leads to next year…. you get the idea!

When you reach for personal transformation you are changing behaviors and pushing boundaries which creates immense discomfort.

Embrace discomfort by using it as motivation. If you are feeling uncomfortable it means you are changing past behaviors that weren’t adding value to your life, so this is a sign you must be doing something right.

Furthermore, discomfort is purely mental and will definitely pass in time. Try utilizing positive visualization of your end goal to cope with the short term discomfort.

Don’t let fear, complacency or self-doubt keep you locked in your comfort zone! Commit to yourself, move past the fear and refuse to quit.

 2. Eliminate Negative Thoughts

Negativity will block your focus and sabotage you from progressing towards your goals.

The way you think towards achieving your goals plays a major role in your success. If you possess a negative mindset, you probably won’t succeed. If you expect failure, it makes it easy to not try.

When you catch yourself speaking negative words or thinking defeated thoughts, immediately replace them with positive words and empowering thoughts. If you don’t, this negativity will over shadow any attempt at progress.

To overcome a negative mindset, you must refuse to think the same way.

Instead of thinking “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t deserve success” try focusing on how far you have come, everything you’ve overcome to get there and how capable and competent you are.

When you make these changes watch your energy explode and your enthusiasm become contagious!

3. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

Do you often find yourself looking at others longing for what they have? Or putting yourself down in comparison to others?

Sometimes the reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our circumstances with everyone else’s public highlight reel.

One of the most destructive daily habits is to constantly compare your life and yourself to other people and their lives.

Someone once told me that you can’t compare your chapter 3 to someone else’s chapter 23. This really resonated with me because everyone is at a different phase in their own journey after all.

Forget what everyone else is doing and achieving. Your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live YOUR best life.
